Acer Iconia Tab A510 goes quad

If you’re looking for a 10-inch Android 4.0 tablet running the lastest Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, we have great news. You can buy one right now for $500, and it’s called the Asus Transformer Prime.

But for those of you who like having more than one option available to you (and wouldn’t mind saving a little money), Acer’s Iconia Tab A510 goes on presale today. Pricing starts at $449, configured with 32GB of storage.

Now, even though Acer can’t claim to be the first to deliver Ice Cream Sandwich on a Tegra 3, the company does have a unique spec worth bragging about. The A510 has an internal 9,800mAh battery that promises up to 12 hours of video playback (a feat helped by the Tegra 3’s dedicated video processor).

Other features include 1GB of system RAM, HDMI video output, microSD memory expansion, Dolby Mobile 3 audio, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, front and rear cameras (1 megapixel/5 megapixel), and a Micro-USB port that works for charging the tablet, as well as other gadgets. Neat trick.

If you really want to do it up proper, you can spring for a version with official Olympic rings on the back. You know, to show the world that you’re a winner.
