Though Sammy was long on promises about how amazing the phone will be, it was short on release dates, pricing, and general availability information. For the United States, it said only that it would deliver the handset “this summer.” Granted, that’s an improvement over the December time frame we heard earlier, but we were hoping for more.
The company dropped no carrier hints, though it said it would make versions of the device for “the fastest LTE and HSPA+ networks.” The mention of HSPA+ suggests that T-Mobile will land it along with LTE-equipped carriers like Verizon Wireless and AT&T. Spreading the carrier love would be no surprise considering Samsung did just that for the original Galaxy S and the Galaxy S II.

Here’s Samsung’s full statement on the matter.
Samsung Mobile is planning a U.S. version of Galaxy S III, optimized for the fastest LTE and HSPA+ networks in the U.S., which will be available in the summer of 2012. Exact timing and retail channel availability is not being announced at this time. We believe the Galaxy S III is the most anticipated product in the 20-year history of Samsung Mobile; therefore, we will continue to share information as it becomes available.
