With version 4.0, VSCO Cam (iOS|Android) is now optimized for iPad, taking advantage of the Retina Display in newer models. And Visual Supply Company also took advantage of the larger screen size, letting you compare images with different filters side by side so you can get the exact look you want.
The iPhone version got some significant upgrades as well with advanced camera controls, including manual focus, shutter speed, white balance and exposure compensation — changes a lot of photo editors have been taking advantage of since Apple opened up the camera API in iOS 8.
New sync tools in version 4.0 let you view and edit selected photos across iOS and Android devices (the Android version of VSCO Cam is still at 3.1) so you’ll be able to start working on one device then switch to another. It also has a new Web uploader tool, which lets photographers import dSLR photos for editing.

Another new feature that will appeal to new and longtime users is Journal, a way of adding words to images to chronicle vacations and create art projects and other themed photo projects.
