A spot of good news for those itching to get their paws on Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 tablet — the software giant has confirmed the precise date that its powerful tablet will arrive in 25 new countries.
Shoppers in the UK, Australia and 23 more territories will be able to buy Surface Pro 3 tablets with Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors from 28 August. You’ll find a full list of all 25 new countries at the bottom of this article.

Microsoft’s tablet, which is already on sale in the US, Canada and Japan, has thus far struggled to compete with Apple’s iPad , which was recently estimated to control 32.5 percent of the tablet world. By analyst firm IDC’s reckoning in fact, Microsoft doesn’t even rank among the top five tablet makers.
The Surface Pro 3 has seen Microsoft step its game up, however. Earning a healthy four stars in our in-depth review , my esteemed colleague Dan Ackerman praised the Pro 3’s slimmer, lighter build and new kickstand, though noted that the device is more successful as a tablet than a laptop replacement.
Microsoft’s latest toy isn’t cheap, either. In the US the Surface Pro 3 starts at $799, while Australian prices start at AU$979 and at £639 in the UK. The Surface Pro 3 can be pre-ordered now from Microsoft’s online shop, unless you’re in China, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand or Taiwan.
From 28 August, the Surface Pro 3 will be available in: Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
