Here’s the first look at the iPad Pro
2:01
Apple has revealed the latest iPad tablets and a new Apple TV. The revamped Apple TV arrives in October, the plus-sized 12.9-inch iPad Pro lands in November, and a new 7.9-inch iPad Mini 4 is on sale now starting from £319.
The new devices were revealed today alongside a new iPhone 6S and 6S plus. The iPad kickstarted the tablet trend in 2010, but now faces competition from cheaper Android devices, hybrid laptop-cum-tablets, and devices such as the Microsoft Surface running the new Windows 10 . This new Pro model is the first iPad to boast a 12.9-inch screen, while the Mini 4 updates the line of smaller tablets.
There are a couple of different versions of the iPad Mini 4 to choose from today. The 32GB model will set you back £319, while the 64GB model costs £399, and the 128GB model is £479.
If you want 4G LTE, add £100 to those prices — so the 32GB model with 4G is £419, the 64GB model with 4G is £499, and the 128GB model with 4G is £579.

The new iPad Pro will come in 64GB or 128GB versions, the latter coming with or without 4G LTE. The slab-like tab is backed by some new accessories: a detachable fabric keyboard and Apple Pencil stylus. Prices for tablet and accessories will be revealed at some point nearer launch.
For approximate comparison, the US prices for the Pro start at $799 for the 32GB model, which if directly converted works out to roughly £520. A 128GB model with Wi-Fi costs $949 in the US, which converts to around £620. And a 128GB model with 4G LTE costs $1,079 — that’s £700 and a bit of change. Those aren’t confirmed UK prices, however.
UK prices for the Apple TV have not yet been announced, but US prices of $149 and $199 convert to £95 and £130.
The new iPads will be available from Apple’s online shop and from Apple Stores near you. They’re also certain to be available from all the usual retailers and phone networks too. Check out the new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus UK prices here. If you’re after a bargain on kit that’s still cool, if no longer cutting-edge, the prices of current and previous models usually fall when a new model is announced, so a bargain could be yours when prices drop.
