Nexus 10 returning to sale ‘soon’, Google Play listing says

Following an absence of some months, Google’s popular Nexus 10 tablet will soon be back on sale, according to Google Play.

The 16GB version of the 10-inch device was listed as ‘out of inventory’ back in October, Phandroid wrote, while the 32GB version also went out of stock, but did make a return in early February, according to the International Business Times. The search giant’s online shop now lists the tablet as ‘coming soon’, suggesting it’ll be possible to snap up the $399 (£349) slate once more.

The Nexus 10 is the bigger brother of Google’s 7-inch Nexus 7, which was introduced in 2012 and updated last year . The Nexus 10, by contrast, hasn’t seen a fresh lick of paint since its debut in November 2012.

As such, a revamped version of the Nexus 10 is long overdue. My fingers are tightly-crossed that when it returns to Google Play, it’ll be with updated specifications. On the other hand, it’s always possible that Google thinks the current model — which has a 2,560×1,600 pixel display and a dual-core processor — is still powerful enough to part shoppers from their cash.

For now the Nexus 10’s status appears to be in flux. It’s still possible, for example, to snap up the 32GB Nexus 10, in the UK, if you’ve got £389 going spare. I’ve contacted Google asking what the status of the 10-inch tablet is, and I’ll update this story if I hear back.

What would you like to see in a new Nexus 10? Let me know in the comments.
