Apple is “working hard” to get you an iPad mini with a retina display, as the new tablet goes on sale today from Currys and PC World.
As Apple Stores admit they don’t know when they’re getting the new iPad mini in stock, Apple boss Phil Schiller says in a press release, “We’re working hard to get as many as we can in the hands of our customers.”
Currys and PC World say the new tablet will be on shop shelves in the real world from Thursday, but seeing as Apple Stores haven’t even got any I wouldn’t put too much stock in that. Hah — stock! Boom boom!
The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models are on sale online now for £319, £399 and £479 respectively. The 128GB model goes on sale tomorrow. Order online sharpish and your new iPad mini could shimmy through your letterbox as soon as Thursday.
And Currys and PC World are offering a up to £50 cashback both in stores and online on all iPad, Android and Kindle tablets bought before 4 December, which you can claim back three weeks after purchase.
Ordering from Apple will see your 16GB or 32GB iPad mini dispatched in 1-3 business days, with delivery estimates today placed at 20-22 November. The 64GB and 128GB and all 4G varieties of the new tablet take 5-10 business days to dispatch.

Stock shortages have been blamed on supplies of the 7.9-inch retina displays. Whatever the cause, Apple is in good company: Google’s Nexus 5 is also suffering from stock problems leading to delivery delays.
