Author J.R.R. Tolken once wrote, “Never laugh at live dragons,” but he never said anything about eating them. With this new Dragon Cake Pan from ThinkGeek you can bake your own mythical creature at home.
The cake pan’s highly detailed design depicts a dragon curled around three eggs. While impressive as far as cake pans go, it can prove a challenge for bakers hoping their creation easily slides out of all those nooks and crannies.

ThinkGeek suggests coating the inside of the pan with non-stick cooking spray, then adding flour or dry cake mix before pouring in the batter. If making a chocolate cake, use cocoa powder instead of flour for the initial dusting.
Made from heavy-gauge aluminum alloy, the Dragon Cake Pan measures 10.5 inches (about 27 centimeters) wide and 4 inches (about 10 centimeters) tall, far smaller than an actual Drogon or Smaug.
Some fans of the Dragon Cake Pan have already suggested in ThinkGeek’s comments that the pan be used for chocolate or gelatin dessert molds. They also suggested serving the dragon cake on top a pile of gold chocolate coins.
The Dragon Cake Pan retails around $25 (about £16, AU$32).
