Someone turned my favorite tabletop game into a video game

It’s no secret that I consider tabletop gaming a great antidote to too much screen time. Especially if you’re into RPG, exploration or tactical games, increasingly sophisticated board games have captured a surprisingly mainstream audience and satiated the need for new stay-at-home entertainment in the past year. One of my favorites has always been the series of Lovecraft-inspired games from …

iFixit says teardown of AirPods Max made competitors look like toys

After looking at the innards of Apple’s new over-the-ear headphones, the AirPods Max, tech site iFixit concluded that the intricate engineering made the lofty $550 price seem almost reasonable. iFixit cracked open the headphones and in summation said, that after looking at competitors, “internally, the AirPods Max’s obsessive craftsmanship makes those other extremely capable devices look like toys by comparison.”  …

Hands on: SquareOne wants to be your digital board game table

Video games have seemingly always been big, and tabletop gaming is enjoying a healthy renaissance, thanks to decidedly nondigital games from Gloomhaven to Arkham Horror. But combining the two has long been a holy grail for some gamers. We’ve seen iOS and Android helper apps for board games, virtual recreations of board games (Tabletopia, Tabletop Simulator and so on), and …

We’re almost ready. And suddenly, we have a racing circuit. I’m looking at my Nintendo Switch screen as I see the kart racing around …

This 2

Got kids? Got bored kids? That’s probably redundant these days, what with the quarantine depriving them of school, friends and playgrounds. A $40 Fire 7 tablet is a godsend right now, but obviously too much screen time isn’t ideal. That’s why I’m seriously jazzed about this deal.
