Rave party busted in Goa
On August 16, the Crime Branch of the Goa Police busted a rave party in the beach village of Vagator in North Goa, arresting 23 persons, including three women foreign nationals, for the possession of drugs.

According to Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Shobhit Saxena, the raid was conducted as part of a police drive to ensure “public health and public safety” during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The rave party was a ‘by-invite only’ affair and was held at a posh row village complex called ‘Frangipani Villas’ at Vagator beach village.
During the search, narcotics drugs including cocaine, MDMA, ecstasy tablets and charas were detected in sizable quantities and worth over Rs nine lakh.
107 booked in Mumbai for partying in lounge
While the government has appealed to citizens to stay indoors during the COVID-19 pandemic to curb the spread of the infection, over 100 people were caught partying at Bombay Brute, a lounge in Oshiwara.

107 people were booked by the State Police for partying in a lounge. The police had received a tip off and aided the place.
A total of 76 people are arrested, including the Hotel’s manager, waiter and 4 staff members. 28 women also attended the party who were left without examination.
Police charged the IPC Act, section 188, section 269, section 336. section 294 and section 285.
Weddings and birthday parties have also been reported from different parts in the country, leaving several infected with the virus.
