Video and Music Unlimited coming to PS Vita

Sony is pushing the PlayStation Vita at serious gamers, but from its release tomorrow the Vita will have access to the Sony Entertainment Network.

At the Vita’s launch on Sydney Harbour it was announced that both the Sony Entertainment Network’s Video Unlimited and Music Unlimited services will be available on the device, with video streaming and downloads available from day one.

Video Unlimited allows users to buy or rent movies, which, depending on the title, will be available in 3D, HD and/or SD.

It’s unclear when Music Unlimited will become available, but when it is users can access a streaming music service offering “millions of tracks”. A basic AU$5 per month subscription grants access to internet radio stations and music syncing across compatible devices. A premium AU$13 per month subscription ups the ante with track-by-track access and playlist creation.

For both Music and Video Unlimited services one account can be used across multiple compatible devices, including PC, PS Vita and the PS3.

Correction: We incorrectly claimed in the original article that both services would be available at launch; only Video Unlimited is.
