Google beat analyst expectations for the second quarter of 2012 and reported a little more than $1 billion in revenue from its new subsidiary Motorola. Google said that Motorola contributed $1.25 billion in revenue ,or about 10 percent of the company’s consolidated revenue, in the second quarter of 2012. Nokia loses £1.1bn as networks see ‘no reason to push Lumia’

Nokia has taken another knock, losing £1.1bn in the last three months. The Finnish phone-fancier saw sales fall by a fifth, with sales of the Nokia Lumia Windows Phone-powered smart phones falling by a third.
