By the end of this week, subscribers to Foxtel on Xbox 360 will have three extra channels to choose from.
Two channels are being added today: Cartoon Network and ESPN2. Cartoon Network is part of the basic AU$19.50 per month subscription package that everyone using the service must have. ESPN2 is part of the sport package that adds AU$10 to every monthly bill.
Joining the mix on Friday, February 17 is Footy Play powered by Fox Sports — let’s just call it Footy Play for simplicity’s sake — which is an extra-cost channel that can only be purchased if you’re subscribed to the sports package.
For the duration of the NAB Cup pre-season tournament, Footy Play is free for sports subscribers. After that, Footy Play will be priced at AU$20 per month, or AU$100 for the entire season.
Footy Play will screen the various Fox Footy panel shows, as well as eight matches live from every full round of the AFL premiership season, with the remaining match shown on delay. For those interested in the NAB Cup, 25 matches will be shown live, with the grand final shown on delay.
