The promotion is available on 11 TVs in the new Sony line-up, and there are 9,000 PS4s up for grabs. To enter, customers need to purchase one of the eligible models at an “authorised Sony dealer” between May 15 and June 29 2014, register online (with proof of purchase), and pony up AU$29.95 for postage.

The models included in the promotion range in price from the 55-Inch Full HD LED LCD Smart 3D TV (KDL55W800B, AU$2,299) up to the 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD LCD LED Smart 3D TV (KD65X9000B, AU$6,999).

Sony is also getting on the FIFA 2014 bandwagon and following the lead of Samsung by including a ‘Live Football Model’ on the new range.

According to Sony, “the acoustics of actual football stadiums in Brazil were measured to create this mode which automatically adjusts audio from the game to match real stadium sound”.

While Samsung’s ‘Soccer Mode’ opts for in-game functionality, analysing the image on the TV to record key moments in game play, Sony is providing out-of-game content in the form of a ‘Football’ button on the TV remote.

By pressing this button, Sony promises users can access “the latest news and the official video from the 2014 FIFA World Cup, as well as popular YouTube football footage so you can learn more about the game’s history”.

The PS4 offer is available in Betta Electrical, Big W, Bing Lee, Costco, David Jones, Dick Smith, Domayne, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Kmart, Myer, Radio Rentals, The Good Guys and Sony kiosks.
