The service offers streaming of both TV and movies in standard or high definition. Up to six devices can be registered to the one account.

Quickflix also dropped the price of its entry-level disc rental service to AU$12.99 a month, with one disc (DVD or Blu-ray) available at any given time, but unlimited swaps each month. There’s also an AU$19.99 per month deal that combines the two.

In the media release Quickflix founder and CEO Stephen Landford calls out Foxtel’s Presto movie service:

We believe our new entry level streaming plan of AU$9.99 per month offers customers the best value proposition and provides unparalleled choice and convenience compared with Foxtel’s AU$19.99 per month plan which only includes standard definition movies and is limited to PC, Mac and iPads.

Quickflix is indeed available as a native app on a broad range of devices, including the PS3, PS4 and Xbox 360, along with some Samsung, Sony and Panasonic smart TVs, as well as a range of mobile devices.
