Presto Entertainment adds HBO, Showtime to lineup

Announced last week, TV streaming service Presto Entertainment is a joint venture between Foxtel and Seven West Media, owners of Channel 7.

Presto has now revealed some of the TV series that will be available on the service when it launches in early 2015. The focus seems to be on offering full seasons of series whenever possible to capitalise on the “binge watching” market.

Seven West Media will offer a number of its locally produced shows, such as “Packed to the Rafters”, “Home & Away” and “All Saints”. Additionally, it will bring a number of international shows to the table, including “Mr Selfridge”, ” A Touch of Frost” and “Rosemary and Thyme”.

The Foxtel half of the venture will also include some Australian made programming, including “Wentworth”, “Love My Way”, “Spirited” and “Satisfaction”.

Foxtel has also announced a number of HBO and Showtime programs that will be available on Presto Entertainment. These include awards winning shows such as “The Wire”, “The Sopranos”, “Girls” and “Band of Brothers”. A full list of all known shows is below.

Presto Entertainment is being pitched as a companion service to the existing Presto Movies. Viewers can subscribe to either service individually, or both as a bundle. Pricing is unknown but Presto Movies is currently AU$9.99 a month after dropping down from its initial launch price of AU$19.99 in August.
