If you own a 2013 Panasonic Smart TV, which includes the Home Screen interface, you will now be able to customize it with the new “Home Screen Collection.” The Collection enables you to pick new wallpapers and layouts from a selection of 20 different options, including nature scenes and even sports stars.
When it comes to customization and even just the attractiveness of its user interface, Panasonic has arguably lagged behind its competitors. The new Home Screen is a good start; the default interface was, in my opinion, rather drab.

To access the new wallpapers, first make sure you have the latest firmware under Menu > Network > Software Update. Then quit out of the menu, press the “Home” key twice, scroll right until you hit “Add New Screen,” and choose the first icon that appears: “Home Screen Collection.” Changing your background is then as easy as choosing it from the selection available.
I have reached out to Panasonic to ask if further wallpapers are on their way, and ultimately if users will be able to upload their own pictures. I experimented with loading an SD card full of photos, but at present you can only view them in a slideshow. I will update this story once Panasonic responds.
I have successfully tried accessing this on the ZT60, ST60, and E60. But let us know in the comments below if you experience any difficulties.
