The 4K UItra HD Viera TV (TH-L65WT600a) is being called “second generation” by Panasonic. Key features include HDMI 2.0 support, Display Port functionality, 4K playback via USB 3.0 or SD and Panasonic’s Swipe and Share technology for 4K content.

The TV will also have all of the smart TV features common to the new range of Viera TVs, including voice interaction, My Home Screen and camera functions.

Panasonic also made mention of its upscaling technology for HD and even SD content. The Fine Remaster Engine uses a database of 120,000 patterns to extrapolate greater detail in the upscaling to Ultra HD.

While Panasonic was unable to give pricing details, the TH-L65WT600a will be available in retail during the third week of October.
