Breaking Bad finale breaks on Netflix before it’s on UK TV

Breaking Bad‘s final season is coming to Netflix before it hits your television. The online streaming service, home of Arrested Development and House of Cards, will show new episodes before they’re on UK TV.

The final eight episodes of the hit US show will appear online on Netflix in the UK and Ireland every Monday, the day after they’re broadcast on US telly.

The climax of Walter White’s descent into hell begins on 12 August on Netflix. Starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, the award-winning Breaking Bad depicts the transformation of a mild-mannered high school chemistry teacher into a drugs kingpin after he is diagnosed with cancer.

Lead character Walter is surrounded by a cast of compelling characters including former pupil turned troubled meth addict Jesse Pinkman; conflicted wife Skylar; slippery lawyer Saul Goodman; and, most worryingly for Walter, his brother-in-law Hank — who just happens to be a top DEA agent.

Throughout the first four-and-a-half seasons, creator Vince Gilligan has ratcheted up the tension to unbearable levels. The series so far is available on Netflix now, before the second half of the fifth and final season arrives in August.

Netflix costs £6 per month, with a one month free trial currently available, and can be watched on computers, phones, tablets, games consoles and smart TVs.
