Marantz has just announced that it has struck a deal with Spotify to offer the music streaming service on a small number of its AV receivers.

Users will need to apply a “small firmware update” via the internet, after which they will be able to access Spotify, with control available through either the AV receiver’s graphical user interface or through the Marantz Remote app.

The Marantz receivers that will be able to apply the firmware are:

  • SR7007

  • SR6007

  • SR5007

  • NR1603

A Spotify Premium account is required to use the service on the Marantz devices.
