Despite adding a new mid-range 4K TV just back in August, LG has once again bolstered its Australian offering, this time with entry-level models as well as the curved 4K OLED TVs, previously seen at CES.

The two new entry-level models are the 40-inch UB800T and the 55-inch UB820T. The 800T has a 50Hz refresh rate, while the 820T has 100Hz. Both are smart TVs, but don’t use LG’s WebOS interface. Price-wise, the UB800T is just AU$1,149 while the UB820T is AU$2,199.

Of course, just AU$500 more gets you the 55-inch UB850T with WebOS, while the new 60-inch version of the same model is AU$2,899.

LG has also continued its commitment to curved TVs. The UC970T is a curved 4K TV, coming in both 55-inch and 65-inch for AU$3,599 and AU$5,499 respectively. It feature WebOS-based smart TV functionality and is HbbTV (Freeview Plus) ready. A 79-inch version — the UG880T — is also available for AU$10,999.

The curved 4K love affair also extends to the OLED, with two 4K curved OLED TVs hitting Australia — apparently one of just ten countries to get the models. The 65-inch EC970T is AU$9,999 and the 77-inch EG970T is AU$22,999. Both have OLED’s so-called ‘infinite contrast’ offering true black, along with WebOS smart TV and Freeview functions. A non-4K 55-inch curved OLED is also available– that’s the 55EC930T and it’s AU$3,999.

According to research from GfK, supplied by LG, screen sizes of 55-inches and above now constitute 57 percent of the TV market, while 4K resolutions are available on 16.8 percent of TVs.
