Humax to fix switchover

If you’ve been struggling with your Humax PVR of late, there’s good news: an update is on its way to fix the problems caused by digital switchover. Humax has issued a statement on its Facebook page, where you can stay posted on the dates of the fix.

Users have reported that the PVR-9150T, PVR-9300T and in particular the PVR-9200T Freeview boxes have had problems with slowing down, freezing and locking up as the older models struggle to cope with changes in the digital switchover. The Korean company’s backroom boffins have now developed a software solution, which will be pushed to boxes as an over-the-air update in coming weeks. You shouldn’t have to do anything.

Humax has a track record for fixing problems, like when we complained about the 9300T’s fan and it got fixed. We have good things to say about Humax — the
HD-FOX T2 and scored 8.6 and the Foxsat-HDR scored 9 in our notoriously exacting reviews — so let’s hope the issue is fixed soon. Do you own a Humax product? Have you been affected, and how have Humax helped you? Let us know your experiences in the comments.
