Foxtel Olympics coverage free for sports subscribers

Foxtel has announced that its London Olympics coverage will be available at no extra charge to anyone with a Foxtel sports subscription.

From 27 July, when the Olympics begin, and running for just over two weeks, Foxtel will broadcast the Games across eight dedicated channels. According to Foxtel, this will enable it to broadcast live and in full every gold medal event or match — all up there are 302 gold medals up for grabs.

The dedicated Olympics channels will be available in both standard and high definition. To enjoy the Games in HD, you naturally need to have the AU$10 more expensive HD Sports package.

The suite of Olympics channels will only be free for residential subscribers. The pay TV operator will release more details regarding its coverage, including the channel details, air times and prices for commercial subscribers, 100 days out from the beginning of the London Games.
