Foxtel has officially launched its new pricing and plan structures, at the same time as bringing the anticipated BoxSets channel on air.

Starting today, customers can now access the Foxtel Entertainment Pack for AU$25 a month on a 12 month plan — half the cost of the previous entry-level package.

The pack gives access to 40 channels including FOX8, Lifestyle, MTV, and National Geographic, as well as including Foxtel’s iQ set top boxes. According to Foxtel, the minimum cost of the Entertainment Pack is AU$450 over the twelve months, including the AU$75 install fee and another AU$75 equipment charge.

The plans also include a revamp of the premium tiers of additional content. The Movies pack is now AU$20 a month, the Sports pack is AU$25 and the Drama Pack, which includes the new BoxSets channel, is AU$20. These are added to the AU$25 base pricing. Other bundles such as Entertainment Plus and Kids can be grabbed for AU$10 a month. You can see the full pricing structure here [PDF].

The BoxSets channel, which goes live today, is based around binge watching with full seasons of shows available. Shows will be broadcast live in order, but seasons will be also be available on-demand with an internet-connected iQ box, Foxtel Play or Foxtel Go. Shows include Game of Thrones (seasons 1-4), Entourage (seasons 1-6), Big Love (seasons 1-5) and Dexter (seasons 1-7).

The BoxSets channel can also be purchased as a standalone channel for AU$10 a month. Existing Foxtel customers will also see some additional content coming their way depending on their existing plans. All current Essentials subscribers will get access to the Showcase channel and Platinum subscribers will get some pay-per-view movies for free.

Foxtel also announced last week that it had extended its content agreement with HBO. The new deal will see Foxtel with exclusive access to all first run programs by HBO including films, miniseries and full seasons. Foxtel customers will also get access to a larger library of past shows via on-demand services.
