If you like your Androids surprisingly tiny, please welcome the Vodafone 845, which has been pictured in all its wee glory by the Unwired blog.
Like the T-Mobile Pulse, the first pay as you go phone to run Google’s Android operating system, the 845 is made by Huawei — although it wasn’t displayed at the Chinese manufacturer’s festival of Android phones at Mobile World Congress in February.
The 845 will tempt us with version 2.1 of Android, Wi-Fi and HSDPA for fast downloads over 3G, according to the anonymous leak. A 3.2-megapixel camera and a QVGA 71mm (2.8-inch) screen put it on a par with the HTC Tattoo, another pint-sized Android phone. The 845 appears to use an optical trackpad rather than the Tattoo’s clunky five-way navigation button, however.
We also spotted icons for Vodafone 360 apps, including its online address book, music store, configurable home page and email service.
Vodafone hasn’t officially announced a release date or price for the 845 yet, but we expect it will sell in the cheap-and-cheerful aisle.
