3’s just unveiled an Android smart phone that costs a paltry £110. Great news for people who need a replacement handset because they’ve consumed one too many shandies at last night’s company party (if anyone’s found any rogue mobiles, please return them to Crave Towers — a handsome reward awaits you).
The ZTE Racer offers a raft of cool features one wouldn’t normally associate with handsets costing so little. It’s fairly attractive, with a neat matte-black finish and a large 2.8-inch touchscreen display. It’s also packing a 3.2-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot (with a 2GB card thrown in for good measure) and the Android 2.1 operating system, which makes it a heck of a lot more advanced than some of its more costly brethren.
It’s not all sunshine and unicorns though. The screen is resistive, meaning you’ll have to exert a tiny bit of pressure before it registers your finger fondling. But that’s a small price to pay considering… the price you have to pay. The ZTE Racer is available on pay as you go from 3 for £109.99, or just £15 on a monthly contract.
