LG Quantum, Optimus One clear FCC

We’ve tuned in when Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer introduced the world to the LG Quantum (LG C900), one of a crop of nine smartphones to first run the Windows Phone 7mobile operating system. We’re happy to let you know it just got the FCC’s kiss of approval, and just in time, too, for it to reach stores in time for holiday sales. Other notable models to become one step closer to reality include the Android-run LG Optimus One (P500H) and the Sonim XP1300, the latest cell phone in Sonim’s ultrarugged line.

Because the FCC has to certify every phone sold in the United States, not to mention test its SAR rating, the agency’s online database offers a lot of sneak peeks to those who dig.
