Official press images of the LG Optimus 7 have leaked, five days before we expect to see it premiered as one of the Windows Phone 7 launch devices on 11 October.
The pictures floated on to the Web thanks to German site BestBoyz.de. The images can be seen here — it’s slim, but hardly ground-breaking. We saw a video of the Optimus 7 recently, which we believe will be LG’s flagship Windows Phone 7 handset.
We expect it to have a speedy 1.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen. An unlocked version was spotted on the German Amazon website going for €499 (£420) last month, though this has since been taken down.
We’ve also seen the LG C900, which has a Qwerty slider keyboard and a more rounded body, though we’re not sure whether we’ll see it next week. LG is one of the launch partners for Windows Phone 7, with other handsets on the way from the likes of HTC and Samsung.
LG also has the entry-level Android Optimus One and Chic to come before the end of the year. We could even see the Nvidia Tegra 2 processor powering some of its future Android and Windows Phone 7 smart phones before 2011 rolls in.
LG looks as though it finally might be getting its act together with Android and Windows Phone 7 smart phones, but is it too late to catch up with its more prestigious rivals?
