Dialed In 148: The $30 Android smartphone

The financial barrier to owning a smartphone is getting lower and lower, in part thanks to the open-source (read: free) Android operating system that can allow manufacturers and carriers to shave costs. We’ve seen our share of entry-level Android phones for $100, but a $30 handset is a jaw-dropping steal, and it’s going to be available through T-Mobile with a two-year contract. We also tick off the list of new mobile handsets coming out in the next month, including the Samsung Galaxy Tab for all four major carriers.
