Motorola today marked a return to high-end smartphones in Australia, by announcing the imminent release of the Milestone 2.
From early December, Optus and Vodafone will range the Milestone 2 Android smartphone, known in the US as the Droid 2. The handset, which features a similar look to the original Milestone, will feature 720p HD video recording plus the latest version of Google’s operating system, Android 2.2. The handset will also ship with an 8GB microSD card to bolster its 8GB internal storage.
The Milestone 2 incorporates the latest version of Motorola’s MotoBlur social-networking-focused user interface, in addition to the software features Android 2.2 delivers, such as the ability to share the phone’s 3G data connection over Wi-Fi.
There’s no pricing available at this time. The first Motorola Milestone handset has been available on an AU$49 contract with Optus until recently.
