Causing a sensation among Android fans since its official launch last month, the new HTC Sensation smart phone will land first on Vodafone, with the network securing a one-month exclusivity deal. If you pre-order today, the company will “aim to deliver your order by 19 May”.
Running Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the new handset comes with a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which should make it pretty damn quick. When we tested the Sensation in person, however, we loved its new graphical interface but wondered if that would slow the phone down over time.
Key features also include the now standard dual cameras that allow video calls from the front, and Full HD video recording and photos from the 8-megapixel rear camera.
Movie fans will also be pleased — the Sensation is the first phone to offer HTC Watch, a video-streaming service that lets you rent or buy films and TV programmes. There’s no HDMI port, though the phone can link to a TV through its USB port.
The phone has a sharp 4.3-inch screen with an excellent 540×940-pixel resolution and comes with 4GB of internal memory.
Vodafone is offering the Sensation for free on a £35 per month contract, with 750MB of data on a 24-month deal. A £25 per month package that includes 500MB of mobile data will cost you £199 up-front for the phone. We’ll have a full review for you as soon as possible, but will you be experiencing a Sensation?
