Sony Ericsson today announced the second wave of games with optimised controls for its Xperia Play gaming smartphone, including PC classic Minecraft and 10 exclusives to the handset.

Other games announced include EA’s Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Shadow Vanguard by Gameloft.
The Play, which launched in Australia last week on Telstra and Optus, is the first PlayStation-certified smartphone and features a slide-out game controller in a similar formation to the controller used by the PlayStation 3. Before its release, Sony Ericsson listed over 70 titles that are now currently available to download and play. The new additions will push the total number of Play-optimised titles to just under 100.
Three of the games slated for launch are massively multiplayer online games (MMO), a relatively new feature of today’s smartphones, which capitalises on the success of PC titles like World of Warcraft. Sony Ericsson said that new versions of classic PlayStation One titles are in the works and “will be coming to the Xperia Play shortly”.
