“This epic multimedia smartphone is HTC’s flagship, and will launch exclusively on the Telstra Next G network in July,” said Andrew Volard, Director of Telstra Mobile Products.

The announcement from Australia’s number one telco didn’t elaborate further with specific details concerning pricing or the date of a launch, but offered, instead, a pre-registration form for customers who wish to know first when this information is made available.

The Sensation is the third HTC handset to be ranged by Telstra so far in 2011, following the Desire S and the Wildfire S. The telco had a huge hit last year with its exclusive release of the HTC Desire, which was considered as being the HTC flagship model until it was superseded by the Desire HD at the end of the year.

With a 4.3-inch display, the Sensation will be one of HTC’s largest phones to date. The handset sports a qHD resolution LCD (540×960-pixels), and packs the latest version of the HTC Sense user experience, including a new 3D-style rotating home screen carousel.
