The first images of AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S II handset, the Attain, have landed online. Boy Genius Report has obtained multiple pictures of the SGH-I927 smartphone, which confirm a sliding QWERTY design and an 8-megapixel camera. The device should run the latest version of Android in 2.3.4 Gingerbread, however, it’s expected to also feature Samsung’s TouchWiz 4.0 user interface. Some of the photos given to BGR show the phone notching high marks on a pair of benchmark tests, something that will surely appeal to tech enthusiasts.
Astute readers will recognize that the design of the Attain closely resembles the Epic 4G, which was Sprint’s version of the original Galaxy S line. While the Epic 4G boasted a spacious five-row QWERTY keyboard last year, the Attain offers a slightly adjusted four-row keyboard with larger buttons.
We’re still waiting on an official announcement from Samsung and AT&T, however, things look good for an August release.
