Mango update ready across all Aussie carriers

Telstra, Optus and Vodafone have all confirmed that the Microsoft Windows Phone Mango update has passed each carrier’s internal network testing, and is ready to distribute to customers as soon as Microsoft officially launches the platform update.

Further to information published on Wednesday regarding Vodafone’s Mango preparations, Telstra and Optus have confirmed today that the update is also ready to push out to customers on these networks. Telstra has updated information on its Software Updates page indicating that the update is “Telstra approved” for the HTC Mozart, the HTC HD7 and the LG Optimus 7Q. Optus doesn’t publish this information on its website, but the update’s approval was confirmed by an Optus spokesperson.

Microsoft is expected to launch the Mango update in early October, alongside a range of new Windows Phone handsets from manufacturers Samsung, HTC, LG, Acer and Asus. Microsoft’s high-profile hardware partner Nokia is expected to miss this launch date, with plans to launch its first Windows Phone smartphone in Q1 of 2012.
