Google, Samsung cancel 11 Oct event

update Google and Samsung have issued a statement cancelling their 11 October event, which is expected to be the launch of the Nexus Prime and Ice Cream Sandwich.

Both companies have sent out an announcement stating that they have decided to “postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall”, claiming that “it is just not the right time to announce a new product”.

The exact cause of the delay is unknown, although speculative reasons include one of the unannounced products encountering a show-stopping bug, ongoing legal stoushes, unexpected video and screenshot leaks, or potentially even the passing of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

A new date and venue is expected to be “shortly announced”, according to the statement.
