The Xperia Arc was a very impressive phone indeed, so when we clamped eyes on its successor, the Xperia Arc S, to say we were excited would be an understatement. Because the Arc S is just like the Arc, but with an improved processor and 3D photography.
And now word reaches us it’s out today, courtesy of Vodafone. This great weather isn’t the only thing putting a smile on our face.
Engadget reports Vodafone is selling the Xperia Arc S now — click here to get your hands on one. The handset is free on monthly plans from £31, or £99 on a £26 a month contract. All the plans are for two years. So why would you want to upgrade? Well allow us to furnish you with our hands-on impression…
Basically, it’s just like the Xperia Arc, but the processor’s been upped to a very healthy 1.4GHz, and it now features a 3D sweep panorama mode for photos. The original Arc scored four stars in our review, so these new features only build on an already impressive phone.
There’s the same curved back making it super-slim, same 4.2-inch amazingly bright reality display, and same 8-megapixel camera, but with this new 3D mode. Just take a panorama photo, then plug your phone into a 3D TV and it’ll appear in three dimensions thanks to the Arc S’s algorithm crunching.
Though with a certain iPhone announcement happening on Tuesday, it might be worth waiting to see what Apple has up its sleeve. An iPhone 5? Or a 4S? Or both?
