Pink Samsung Galaxy S2 lands in Sweden

A pink version of its Galaxy S2 has landed in Sweden on Three, indicating that the rose-tinted mobile could be cheering up the UK very soon.

The pink S2 is bound to please anyone who likes the idea of owning the 4.3-inch smart phone but finds the default black option a bit too morbid.

Apart from the rose-tinted casing it looks as though the pink Galaxy S2 is exactly the same as the normal version. That’s no bad thing — despite being released in the first half of this year, the S2 is still an enviably powerful mobile, packing a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel camera.

Previously the pink version had only been confirmed for South Korea, but now it’s touched down in Sweden it could be coming here before too long.

Samsung has already taken the paint brush to the Galaxy S2, producing a white version earlier this year, and in September we reported that the Samsung had flogged 10 million of the Editor’s Choice-winning mobile.

The Galaxy S2 is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which is no longer the very latest version of Google’s robot-powered operating system. The new Samsung Galaxy Nexus enjoys that privilege, leaping out the box running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The good news is Samsung has vowed to update the Galaxy S2 to Ice Cream Sandwich. The bad news is that when it will get that update is anyone’s guess.

But it’s hard to be gloomy with that big pink S2 at the top of the page. Let us know whether you’d buy one in the comments, or on our Facebook wall.
