Prada, sweetie! The LG Prada Phone toe-to-heels down the mobile runway and into phone shops tomorrow.
The Android-powered high-fashion phone hits the high street, going on sale at Phones4U stores and online, for delivery before the end of the month. It’s been a while since LG’s had a hit phone — could the officially named Prada Phone by LG 3.0 get LG back on the catwalk?
We like the Prada phone: it’s every bit as svelte and sleekly styled as a Prada outfit, with a large and bright 4.3-inch screen as stunning as any supermodel.
It features a nippy 1GHz dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera and 8GB of internal storage.
It’s powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which isn’t the latest version of Android, but is still easy to use and endlessly customisable. And at some stage this year — probably spring — the phone will be automatically updated to the freshest ‘droid, Ice Cream Sandwich.
Android is usually a colourful affair, but the Prada Phone strips that back to a stylish minimalist black and white look. It looks great, and really complements the noirish overall styling of the phone.
The Prada is offered by O2, Orange and Vodafone. You can bag yourself the fashion phone for free with a contract of £31 or more per month. Thirty quid a month also nets you 3,000 texts and around 900 minutes for calling up your PA to bark instructions at them from the Prada party in Milan, or calling your favourite designer to request a frock for the red carpet in New York.
On its own the phone costs around £450.
