Asus has announced the availability of the Eee Pad Transformer Prime in Australia.
The tablet will ship with Honeycomb on-board, but an update will be available over the air for Google’s latest operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich.
Two models of the Prime will be available in the Australian market: a 32GB (AU$799) variant, and a 64GB (AU$899) version. Both will come with a keyboard dock, and will be sold at most major retailers.
Australia will be receiving the original Transformer Prime, with a 1280×800 screen, and presumably still suffering the reported Wi-Fi and GPS issues.
In the US, Asus recently announced the TF700T, a higher-level SKU of the Transformer Prime, featuring a 1920×1200 screen and a redesigned back to improve Wi-Fi performance. It is expected to be released in North America in Q2 this year.
