Telstra today unveiled its first new handset for 2012, launching the Samsung Galaxy Y into its prepaid range.
With a 3-inch display, Telstra has dubbed the Galaxy Y “Baby Android” in its announcement, though it isn’t that much smaller than the currently available LG Optimus Spirit, and is marginally larger than the Telstra Smart Touch. The Galaxy Y also fits snugly between these two models in price, with an AU$129 outright asking price.
The handset also features a 2-megapixel camera, an FM radio tuner and the same Navigon maps app available on higher-end Samsung models. To really sweeten the deal, Samsung has included the Swype keyboard alternative into the mix.
