There’s hardly a day goes by where we don’t see a ‘leaked photo’ of the Samsung Galaxy S3, but the latest shot looks far more convincing than most.
Posted over at Reddit and reportedly leaked by somebody at public relations company Weber Shandwick (which handles PR for Samsung in several countries) the shot shows a very skinny, very Samsung-esque looking handset. If it’s a fake, it’s the best fake I’ve seen to date — a darn sight more convincing than the last one we spotted, at least.
So what can we glean from the shot, assuming it’s legit and not just the product of a Reddit user with too much time on his (doubtless hairy-palmed) hands? Well, this Galaxy S3 features a huge screen that takes up almost the entire width of the front panel. There’s a physical home button beneath it, and from the layout I’d assume touch-sensitive options and back buttons either side of that.
The volume rocker is located on the left side panel of the phone, and there’s what looks to be a dedicated camera button on the right side. There’s also a forward-facing camera, of course. The phone pictured is mainly glossy white, but with a black frame around the entire front.
The general consensus is that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S3 fairly soon — its predecessor the S2 was revealed in April last year, so a similar date this year seems fitting. It’s highly likely that we’ll find out if this shot is the real deal sooner rather than later.
If you’re eager to consume more news on the S3, I’d advise you to feast your eyeballs on our S3 complete guide, into which we’ve crammed all the most convincing S3 rumours and speculation.
So what do you think of this image? Has Reddit outed the genuine article or is this shot as convincing as Kevin Costner and Christian Slater’s English accents in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves? Speak your brains in the comments section below.
