Optus confirms HTC One X for 2 April

Optus has joined its subsidiary Virgin Mobile in announcing the imminent availability of the HTC One X, opening pre-orders for the HTC flagship today with delivery of the units scheduled for 2 April.

Customers interested in the One X can choose a $0 upfront option on an AU$59 per month plan, which includes AU$750 call and message value and 2GB of data each month. Optus will sweeten the deal by offering two months of the contract for free, or three months free for business customers. Optus will aim to deliver pre-ordered handsets on 2 April to customers in metro areas, and 4 April to regional Australia.

Virgin Mobile will also sell the One X for $0 on an AU$59 plan, where its plan includes AU$700 of credit and 3GB of data.

The HTC One X is the flagship model announced by HTC at Mobile World Congress (MWC) this year, and will be the first of the new HTC One Series phones to be released in Australia. The handset runs on the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform, has an HD-resolution, 4.7-inch screen and is powered by a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor.
