Virgin Mobile has introduced exclusive smartphone covers designed by celebrities, with plans to donate the proceeds from sales to the Salvation Army’s Oasis Youth Support Network.
The covers went on sale yesterday and are designed by Sir Richard Branson, musician Natalie Imbruglia, ksubi and Dean Good, a previous recipient of support through the Oasis Network. The four designs are available on cases for a small range of handsets, including the iPhone 4/4S, the Samsung Galaxy S II and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. They are available online or through Virgin Mobile stores.
“Virgin Mobile’s Covers for a Cause reminds us all that the young people who find their way to Oasis are homeless, not helpless. If we make enough noise we can shine a light on this important issue and help put an end to youth homelessness,” said Branson in a statement.
The four designs are representative of “Dreams”, as interpreted by each of the designers. Branson’s design features a space theme, with an astronaut and small planets, dove-tailing with the entrepreneur’s continuing investment in commercial space travel.
