Samsung Galaxy S3 in blue or white, inventory snap suggests

A sneaky shot supposedly showing Carphone Warehouse’s inventory system suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be available in blue or white colour options.

The image, sent to GSMArena by an anonymous tipster, lists two products, ‘Samsung Galaxy S3 Blue’ and ‘Samsung Galaxy S3 White’, bearing product codes ‘SAMSGHGLYXBLUE’ and ‘SAMSGHGLYXWHI’.

Intriguing stuff. Those of you concerned that Samsung could be ditching its default black hue for its newest blower perhaps needn’t worry — as GSMArena notes, the Galaxy Note in marketed in the US as coming in ‘Carbon Blue’ or ‘Ceramic White’ options, but the blue version of that phone sports such a dark hue that it may as well be black.

As such, an electric blue Galaxy S3 may be off the cards.

I certainly wouldn’t object to these colour options — Samsung made us wait for the white version of the Galaxy S2, so getting a couple of colour options at launch would be appreciated.

With the S3 set to combat the fabled iPhone 5, Samsung needs to focus on design now more than ever. Personally I’d like to see the company ditch the uninspiring grey hue that adorns the back of the Galaxy Nexus, or the plain silver that it’s chosen for its upcoming Galaxy Tab 2 7-inch and 10.1-inch tablets.

Meanwhile, GSMArena has also spotted what’s reported to be a screen protector for the S3 on Chinese site Unwire.hk, that tips the phone to be a shade bigger than the 4.7-inch HTC One X.

The S3 is set for an official launch tomorrow evening. Take a gander at our leaked photo roundup in the meantime, and stick your predictions for Samsung’s next Android effort in the comments, or on our Facebook wall.
