We all know someone who has smashed the screen on their iPhone (I personally know about six to 10 examples), and you also probably know the person who continues to use their phone after the drop, despite the risk of slicing up their fingers playing Fruit Ninja.
If your iPhone screen looks like a wine glass at the opera and you’re feeling handy, our colleagues from CNET in the US have posted a step-by-step guide to replacing the screen yourself. You’ll need a few special tools to compete the job, and attempting this will void your warranty (if you still have one), but it certainly seems like a doable weekend project.
Check out the guide here, and if you’re into other gadget self-repair, you can check out the Cracking Open blog on our sister site TechRepublic.
