In addition to HTC, LG will be holding its own New York press conference on the morning of September 19. It will also be hosting a coinciding event on September 18 in Seoul, South Korea.
Though details are sparse, leaked press photos of the LG Optimus G suggest that the company will most likely announce the availability and release of its newest flagship phone.
The Optimus G promises to sport a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core CPU (yes, as in four), a 4.7-inch HD IPS display, and a 2,100mAh battery.
It’s also expected to come with NFC capabilities and run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

If the device does indeed see a U.S. release, it will be exciting news for American consumers. LG’s last superphone, the LG Optimus 4X HD, never made its way here from South Korea, despite being quite impressive (and my personal pleads for it).
Here’s hoping, however, that this New York event means that the Optimus G will land on our shores. Until then, CNET will be attending both events, so be sure to check back as we bring you the news.
