While the original Galaxy Note was ridiculed for its large 5.3-inch display, Samsung has pushed the device aggressively, now adding even more carrier support for the second, larger 5.5-inch version. The device sparked a new mini category dubbed “phablet,” or a cross between a smartphone and tablet.
The Galaxy Note 2 will be available for preorder on Oct. 25 via AT&T. The carrier said a “marble white” version could be available in the coming weeks.
Along with the larger display, the Galaxy Note 2 features an S-Pen stylus, like the original, a quad-core processor and 8-megapixel camera. The device runs on Android 4.1, or Jelly Bean.
Samsung has planned a launch event for the device tomorrow.
