Designer John Chandler shows you how to make a not-quite-so-budget iPad Mini case out of a Moleskine notebook.
There’s something very satisfying about DIY — saving money, creating something with your own hands; pretending to be MacGyver. Maybe you won’t save that much money with this trick by designer John Chandler — a Moleskine of the right size will set you back around AU$30 — but you still get the MacGyver part. That’s something, right?
So apparently the iPad Mini is exactly the same size as the Moleskine size L notebook — right down to the exact corner shape. So Chandler got himself a Moleskine, some tools and started fiddling.
You will need:
-
A large Moleskine notebook
-
Double-sided sticky sheets like this (check craft stores)
-
A piece of 3.8cm-wide grosgrain ribbon, slightly longer than how tall the Moleskine is
-
Glue
-
A sharp pocketknife, or similar blade.
