The rumour mill is running hot with the suggestion that the next Samsung Galaxy phone will be announced by mid-March.
Samsung seems to be approaching Apple levels of consumer hype, with big rumours arriving regarding the Galaxy S4 just days after the possibility of an 8-inch Notethat got the fans frothing at the mouth.
This rumour starts with Eldar Murtazin, founder of the Russian site Mobile-Review, who tweeted that a “big announcement” on 14 March could cause some problems for HTC making its sales estimates for its next handset, the One.
Samsung-related site SamMobile picked it up from there, saying that the tweet related to Samsung Galaxy S4, even going as far as to list some of the projected specs for the phone: 8-core Exynos processor, 4.99-inch AMOLED screen and more. SamMobile had previously said that the S 4 would be announced on 15 March.
The rumour then passed to The Verge, which scored the final try by having its own Samsung sources confirm that “March 14th is ‘definitely’ the day that the Korean giant plans on revealing one or more new devices, one of which is presumed to be the Galaxy S4”.
So the current score is a “maybe definite” reveal of the Samsung Galaxy S4, along with a possible announcement about the Galaxy Note 8.0, all taking place in mid-March. We’d suggest you wait a little while longer before marching into a Samsung store and trying to place a pre-order.
